Board of Education

The Habersham County Board of Education comprises five members elected from separate single-member districts of approximately equal population.

The fundamental role of the Board of Education is to establish a policy for the local school system with a focus on student achievement. The essential function of the School Superintendent is to implement the procedure set by the Board.

It is not the role of the Board of Education or individual members of such Board to micromanage the Superintendent in executing their duties. Still, the Board has to hold the School superintendent accountable for the performance of their duties.
