The Habersham County Probate Court exercises exclusive, original jurisdiction in the probate of wills, administration of estates, appointment of guardians and involuntary hospitalization of incapacitated adults and other individuals.
Georgia law requires that all births be recorded in the office of the Probate Judge in the county where the delivery took place. For that reason, anyone who needs a copy of a birth certificate must call, write, or visit the Probate Judge's office in the county where he/she was born.
