Position: Lifeguard/Aquatic Staff               Department:  Recreation

Salary:  $8.26 per hour                              Pay Grade:  5

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt                       Start Date:  ASAP

Posting Date: 05/13/09                               Closing Date:  Open Position

Major Duties:

 

Ensuring patron safety by enforcing Aquatic Center rules and regulations and educating patrons regarding such rules and regulations.  Recognizing and responding effectively to all emergencies. Performing custodial and maintenance duties in and around pool area.  Assisting with special events and program staffing needs as necessary.  Performing additional duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.  Thorough knowledge and application of life guarding surveillance and rescue techniques; an understanding of pool rules and facility policies and procedures, skill in leadership and decision-making, and skill in public relations Current certification in Lifeguard Training, First Aid & CPR from the American Red Cross or other nationally recognized agency.
