Emergency Services Department

On February 19, 2018, the Habersham County Board of Commissioners and the Habersham County Medical Center Hospital Authority Board fulfilled a commitment to work towards a positive and progressive collaboration to benefit Habersham County residents. Both boards voted and approved a resolution that transitioned oversight of Habersham County’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) from Habersham Medical Center to the government of Habersham County.  

 

On March 5, 2018, the EMS Department officially merged with the County’s Fire Department to create a new “Habersham County Emergency Services Department”.  This change allows for cross-training among fire and EMS personnel and strategically positions personnel and equipment to improve responsiveness to all emergency calls County-wide.
