Parks and Recreation Department
The Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to providing community recreation for children, youth and adults. The services of the department contribute immensely to the building of sound physical and mental health, citizenship and character, and to reducing crime and delinquency within the county. The department promotes educational and emotional growth as well as the social, cultural and moral well-being of families and communities.
The Parks and Recreation Department hopes you and your family enjoy your time spent at its facilities and welcomes your comments and suggestions on how we might better serve you. Swimming Pool InformationThe Recreation and Aquatic Center has two swimming pools -- an exercise/therapy pool and an eight-lane lap pool. Open swimming is allowed in either one when not in use, provided a lifeguard is on duty. The Aquatic Center is open Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.Swimming Pool Rules and Regulations
People with special needs and/or groups of 10 or more need to call the pool office a minimum of 24 hours in advance to allow for adequate lifeguard coverage. The Habersham County Parks and Recreation Department leisure professionals and facilities maintenance personnel work hard year round to meet the needs and expectations of Habersham County's residents with diversified youth and adult programs and activities. The Parks and Recreation Department's offices are located in the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center.
Organized recreation plays a significant role in making Habersham County a more desirable place to live and work. In these times of changing lifestyles, it is imperative that the Parks and Recreation Department offer its participants the opportunity to engage in quality leisure time activities.
