Hospital Authority

The Authority is organized and exists under the provisions of the Georgia Hospital Authorities Law. The Authority has the ultimate responsibility and authority for all activities of Habersham County Health Center.

The overall purpose of the authority is to formulate hospital policies to guide the administrative decision-making process. The primary functions of the authority are to provide leadership for effective organization, stewardship of the hospital resources, representation to the external environment, quality assurance and articulation of the community needs and attitudes.

The business activities of the Hospital Authority are managed and conducted by a board of nine voting members. This board operates under the bylaws established by the Authority. Members are appointed by the Habersham County Board of Commissioners for staggered five-year terms.

The Hospital Authority meets on the the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Medical Center.

Term: 5 years, staggered.
